Eating 1 mouth and drinking 3 sips of water is the eating habit of pigs and the source of all nutrients for factory-farmed pigs. Therefore, the food safety of pigs is the safety of feed and drinking water.

As the structure of diets becomes more complex, mycotoxin contamination becomes more prominent. Table 1 is the mycotoxin test results of more than 60 corn samples sent by the Anchi Animal Nutrition Research Institute. According to the Anchi corn toxin control standard (stricter than GB 13078), 31.1 of the vomitoxin, 16.4 of the zearalenone and 3.3 of the aflatoxin B1 in the customer's corn samples exceeded the standard.

Vomiting toxin destroys the integrity of the intestinal wall, and piglets are particularly sensitive. Zearalenone has reproductive toxicity and affects the reproductive performance of sows. Therefore, the daily control of mycotoxins should be based on the control of vomiting toxins and zearalenone.

Safety of drinking water

The vast majority of farms use groundwater. According to the groundwater quality standard (GB/T 14848-2017), Class I ~ III water can be used for drinking (human and animal).

Table 2 shows the test results of salt content, total colony number, total coliform number and E. coli number of more than 50 customer water samples received by Anchi Animal Nutrition Research Institute. According to the results, more than 80% of the total colony number and total coliform number of groundwater in farms inside and outside Shandong Province exceed the standard, while about 30% of the salt content and E. coli exceed the standard.

The three indicators of total colony count, total coliform group and Escherichia coli can basically determine that the groundwater has been contaminated by feces. Adding acidifier to drinking water can reduce the pH value and reduce the number of bacteria and viruses in the water.

According to the test results of feed and drinking water, as well as long-term communication with customers, we proposeDo a good job in inlet management, that is: reduce harmful ingredients in feed and drinking water, especially mycotoxins in feed and pathogenic bacteria in drinking water, reduce the waste of nutrition caused by the body to remove toxins and resist pathogenic bacteria, and make nutrients really used in normal production and reproduction activities. It is meaningful to talk about nutrition on the basis of ensuring the safety of feed and drinking water.
